PRIX ITALIA 2009 *In memoria*
Edward Wickham and Antony Pitts's haunting celebration of commemoration and
change, 'In memoria', has just been nominated by the BBC for this year's
Prix Italia.  Judging for this most prestigious of radio awards takes place
in September.
iTUNES *In memoria (as heard on BBC Radio 3)*
Judge for yourself now by downloading the complete collage from iTunes -
think of it like a movie (but with better pictures, as the saying goes).
The album art features beautiful photography by Colin Turner.

coming soon...
SATURDAY 4 JULY 9.30pm (2030-2130GMT) *A Wireless Revelation*
A Golden Radio production for BBC Radio 3 (90-93FM in the UK)
"At the back of the Bible is the Apocalypse, also known as the Book of
Revelation: an intense sequence of visions given to the exiled John on the
Aegean island of Patmos, at the end of the first century AD.  Full of
pictures and patterns that have inspired artists and composers, as well as
scientists, kings, and politicians down the ages, this new radiophonic
presentation in the Between the Ears series is a communal reading of the
complete text in a range of translations old and new.
John Ashenfelter reads from the English Standard Version alongside 'vox pop'
readings from the King James Version and others, and the voices of regular
broadcasters Kathryn Knight, the Bishop of Rochester, and the Reverends
Richard Coles and Alan Walker.
Illuminating the book as it unfolds are fragments from Handel's Messiah and
Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time and choral music by Hildegard of
Bingen and Antony Pitts."

More details next month, but if you'd like a review copy in advance
(primarily in order to let more people know about the broadcast), then do
get in touch.
and this week, live in Jerusalem:
THURSDAY 18 JUNE 1.00pm *St Anne's Church, Jerusalem*
The Choir of London conducted by Jeremy Summerly sing a cappella choral
works in the unparalleled surroundings of the 12th-century church of St Anne
in the Old City of Jerusalem, culminating in Antony Pitts's timeless setting
of the classic hymn, 'There is a green hill'.
Previews of the performance and of the piece itself are here:
The sheet music can be found on page 18 of this free study score:

Next month, hopefully, details of a brand new iPhone app...
Thank you for listening,
Antony Pitts
