This month Seven Letters finally makes it to iTunes and farewell to a much-loved musical friend...
"...welcome... attractive... rapturous, expressive, and exquisite... instructive... splendid... impressive." Opera Today on Sacred Music from Notre-Dame Cathedral read complete review (June 2007)... http://shop.thewelcomestranger.org/latest-reviews-83-p.asp
iTUNES *Seven Letters and other sacred music* Our first disc for Hyperion (incidentally, it was this recording which convinced Klaus Heymann to sign TONUS PEREGRINUS up on Naxos), this sequence of choral music was composed between 1988 and 2000, and is now available for download from iTunes: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=252224764&s=143444 and in fact, nearly all of our TONUS PEREGRINUS discs are also now on iTunes. Individual tracks from 'Seven Letters' including 'The First and Last' (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=252224764&s=143444&i=252224871), 'O Holy of Holies' (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=252224764&s=143444&i=252225516), and 'Amen' (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=252224764&s=143444&i=252225524) are also available for just 79p each. A second, follow-up disc by TONUS PEREGRINUS for Hyperion - 'Alpha and Omega' - will be released early next year.
COMMISSION NEWS *Jerusalem-Yerushalayim* This oratorio, which tells the biblical story of Jerusalem (from Genesis to Isaiah's vision of future peace and harmony) is now well under way, and performances are planned for next year. Roughly four or so out of the 13 movements are still available for commission (a bit like getting your name on a plaque on a park bench, although probably rather dearer) - please get in touch if you're interested.
FREE *baby grand piano* for details, please sign up for our free monthly newsletter - just email news@tonusperegrinus.co.uk. Next month, a first performance in Ely, a second performance in Kingston, and a whole concert with the Elysian Singers in London (http://www.elysiansingers.freeserve.co.uk/concert.html).
Thank you for listening,
