MONDAY 8 MAY 9pm *A St Pancras Canticle*
My St Pancras Canticles were commissioned for the 2003 London
Festival of Contemporary Church Music; broadcast the following
year on Choral Evensong; the Nunc Dimittis has become a staple,
repeated in 2005 and again this year at Compline on Monday
evening.
Ivan Hewett writes in The Telegraph: "the striking thing about
this year's festival is the way avowedly 'church' composers, such
as Antony Pitts and Rutter, are outnumbered by names from the
musical mainstream." Not sure what to make of that...
St Pancras is situated on the corner of Euston Road and Upper
Woburn Place and is in easy walking distance of Euston, St.
Pancras and Kings Cross mainline stations.

COMMISSION NEWS *Edington Festival première*
The last of eight motets from the 'I AM...' cycle, setting
Jesus's most controversial statements of identity, has been
commissioned for this year's Edington Festival, and will open the
live broadcast on BBC Radio 3's Choral Evensong. More info on
'Before Abraham was, I AM...' to follow - when it's written.
After completing this approximately 40-minute cycle (which
hopefully will be performed in its entirety for the first time in
the autumn), the next big project is an oratorio simply called
'Jerusalem'. If anyone's interested in getting involved in
supporting or performing in the project, do get in touch.
Happy listening,
Antony Pitts
